Our Sustainability Mission

Lesro products are designed and manufactured with a lifetime warranty. They can be readily serviced and maintained with field replaceable components. This extends the number of years they are in service and reduces Lesro's contribution to the waste stream.

Powered by Solar Energy

With over 3200 solar panels producing roughly 1.2 million kWh of electricity per year, we have taken full advantage of a shining opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. The benefits of a solar energy system have never been greater and we at Lesro see this installation as yet another step forward on our environmental journey.

Facility

  • 3,200 roof-mounted solar panels produce roughly 1.2 million kWh of electricity per year
  • Computer monitored heating and air conditioning systems throughout the office and production facilities
  • Energy-efficient low water usage sinks
  • Lesro property surrounding the facility is used for farming

Manufacturing & Sourcing

  • Wood is sourced in specific sizes and grades to maximize yield and minimize waste
  • Foam is produced using renewable soy-based oils to reduce the use of petrochemicals and their related greenhouse gases
  • Water-based, solvent-free foam adhesives provide a cleaner, safer work environment
  • Single-sided application of adhesives reduces adhesive usage by 50%
  • Our powder paint application process emits near zero VOC emissions. This process produces less overspray than traditional painting methods, contributing to a cleaner, healthier work environment
  • Many of our wood coatings are applied using an electrostatic spray system which greatly reduces overspray, creating less waste and a safer working environment
  • Raw materials and supplies are purchased from local sources as much as possible in order to minimize transportation costs and their related CO2 emissions

Packaging

  • Ready-to-Assemble construction reduces the amount of packaging materials and reduces the shipping volume by a factor of 3, leading to a reduction of transportation related CO2 emissions by 66%
  • Efforts are made to use sustainable and recyclable packaging as much as possible

Recycling/Upcycling

  • Sawdust waste is converted to fuel pellets or used on local horse farms as bedding material
  • Scrap fabric is recycled, and leftover fabric is donated to Habitat for Humanity

From the Lesro Farm

2025 Growing Season

Lesro harvested rye for CT craft brewing of whiskey and beer.

To help prepare for next season's planting, a buckwheat cover crop will be planted to improve soil health, smother weeds, and help control pests and diseases. When harvested, it will be ground into bread flour.

Proceeds earned from the Lesro farm were donated to The Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which provides college and trade school scholarships, educational assistance, and career support to military children who lost a parent in the line of duty.
